Monthly Tip

Homeowner Tips to Prevent Freezing Pipes

To prevent pipes from freezing during cold winter weather, homeowners should: keep their thermostat set to a consistent temperature above 55 degrees Fahrenheit, open cabinet doors under sinks where pipes are located to allow warm air circulation, and let a faucet drip slowly in the coldest part of the house, especially if pipes are exposed to exterior walls.

Key points to remember:

  • Maintain a steady temperature: Don't significantly lower the heat, even if you're away from home for a short period; aim for a temperature above 55 degreesFahrenheit.
  • Access to pipes: Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to reach exposed pipes.
  • Let faucets drip: Running a small trickle of water from a faucet connected to an exposed pipe can prevent freezing by keeping water moving.
  • Insulate pipes: Consider adding pipe insulation, especially for pipes in unheated areas like garages or basements.
  • Check outdoor faucets: Before freezing weather, turn off the water supply to outdoor faucets and drain any remaining water.

Announcement: New Persimmon Ridge Website Coming Soon!

A new Persimmon Ridge website is currently in development.  Important information about the community will be posted there for all residents to access.  We are hoping this allows all residents to stay in the loop on important communications, reminders, upcoming events, the governing documents, and anything related to the amenities(pool, tennis courts, playground, pavilion, etc), among other things!  Once this is available for use, we will send out details on how to access the website!

List of Services Updated

The 2024 list of babysitters, pet sitters, grass cutters/yard work and trash and mail collectors.

At the beginning of each school year we update our list of students that perform the work mentioned above.   That list is kept on Facebook and updated a couple of times each year (or as needed). It is also attached to the email sent by Cornerstone with this newsletter.

If you want your child to be added to the list please email the board atPRHOADirectors@gmail.com with the below information.

  • Name
  • Grade
  • School
  • Phone #
  • Which of these jobs do they do? (babysitter, pet sitter, grass cutter/yard work or trash or mail collector)

Lake Sycamore

This is a reminder to all residents that Lake Sycamore (also known as Lake Ogle), is not a public access lake. This lake is located between the golf course, Sycamore HillsLane, Willow Creek Lane/Court and Persimmon Ridge Drive. The lake is a CommonArea drainage basin that is surrounded by private homes, with no designated public access.

This lake is spring-fed and a drainage basin that collects water from Persimmon RidgeDrive.  The homes surrounding the lake have access/view of the lake, just as homes bordering the golf course have views of it. There is no 'public' access to this lake.Surrounding homeowners must give permission for you to go onto their private property for you to access the lake, you should not access it without permission.
